Reviews Summary

OSSO San Isidro is celebrated for its exceptional steaks, particularly Wagyu cuts, and creative appetizers. Diners often praise the quality of the meat, the excellent service, and the pleasant ambiance, making it ideal for special occasions. However, some reviewers found certain dishes to be overcooked or oily, and a few mentioned issues with the cost-to-experience ratio or unexpected charges for bread.

"Went here several times. Wagyu is their specialty. The ribeye and NY strip were cooked to perfection. The potatoes fries were also amazing, thick yet crispy and soft inside. The grilled fish and octopus were also nice. Their Lomo Saltado is also a signature meat dish! For drinks, I recommend Tinto Verano! The service was excellent, the waiters went above and beyond to make sure we were warm with blankets and heaters as we were on the terrace during a windy evening."

Pierre M

"This was such an amazing dining experience. Truly superb steaks and incredible wines to pair it all with."

Ashley RmR

"Recommended! Great food quality and taste. Service is excellent, too. One of the best places to have a good steak in Lima.
The dessert with bacon is awesome!"

Fine Dining in the Far West: Why Lima is Considered the Gastronomic Capital of Latin America

Those with a yearning for red meat on the other hand should pay a visit to San Isidro’s OSSO, an establishment run by butcher Renzo Garibaldi which serves up a tasting menu of charcoal-grilled carnivorous delights. Diversity is also served up in the form of establishments like Chifa Titi, a restaurant that embodies the influence of Chinese immigrants on Peruvian cuisine with its hearty portions of chifa classics. Or if you’re feeling adventurous you could explore the local fish markets and street food hotspots in search of the dishes that inspired it all.

7 Best Lima Restaurants to Eat At

Located in the district of La Molina, Osso is a restaurant owned by Renzo Garibaldi, who had previously plied his trade in France and the USA before opening his own establishment in the Peruvian capital. Osso brings a French twist to many Peruvian classic dishes, and overall is a more experimental style of food rather than the more authentic national dishes that others focus on. From preparing charcuterie in-house to dry-aging different cuts of meat, Osso is definitely a place to go if you love meats and eating with your hands.

Our Culinary Adventure in Lima

Osso is a neighborhood restaurant and butcher in La Molina, way up in the inland eastern foothills of Lima and a traffic-heavy hour away by taxi, but they opened a second location in San Isidro, about 25 minutes’ walk from the hotel. Sadly, this location seemed to be a sort of corporate copy of the original, meant to appeal to the business crowd of the glitzy neighborhood, and the prices reflected that. To make things worse, we also found ourselves still pretty overloaded by the massive lunch at La Mar.
