Los Portales is a restaurant at the square just by Chocomuseo. We went there after our workshop, while we waited for our chocolates to set. I love eating outdoors, watching the square, and the food was amazing, the portions were huge, and the service was excellent.

ChocoMuseo is a chain with two locations in Cusco, another in Ollantaytambo, and two in Lima (the Pisac one is now closed). There are even a few outside of Peru now. It is more of a chocolate shop than museum.

The ChocoMuseo Tour is the perfect way to change things up, and also a good place to start for those still acclimatizing to the higher altitudes (be sure to relax the first day or two when arriving).

So, when we found out that the ChocoMuseo not only has exhibits about cocoa but, it is also a place to where you learn how to make chocolate by participating in a cooking class, we were very excited.

When you enter the ChocoMuseo on Plaza Regocijo, the scent of cocoa already meets you. During a tour you learn about the history and the harvesting and production process of cocoa and chocolate.

With that said it is a ton smaller than I was expecting, there was no edible foliage and the workers were a lot taller and danced less than oompa loompas.
