"Located in the charming suburb of Barranco, Isolina is a statement of why Peruvian cuisine is so unique! The place itself is really gorgeous, with that atmosphere of being from another time! The dishes and cocktails are all delecious (I totally recommed the Aji de Gallina for it is one of the best I have had so far). All dishes can be for either one or two people, and they are all ver well served (I would say 3 peoplecan a share the 2-person meal). If you have sweet teeth, try the desserts - they are also quite generous in their portions!
Price-wise, it is not cheap but it is not expensive either - especially considering what they deliver in terms of service and food quality.
Now, due to their fame, there´s always waiting list (they do not do reservations) and it took me 40 minutes to be in. But despite that I would definetely go there many other times."

There was a strong draft inside the restaurant, which made the food go cold quickly and created an uncomfortable atmosphere. The waiter wasn’t helpful at all — we asked about the difference between the small and large portions, and he just said the small one was for one person and the large one for sharing. However, the large portion was massive, and considering we had already ordered starters, he could have advised us better. Regarding the food, nothing impressive. Unfortunately, the overall service and ambiance didn’t meet our expectations."

Chef José del Castillo has made it his mission to make offal cool again, and it's working. My main love for Isolina is that they use animal parts that would normally be thrown away. On the menu for my visit was a fried blood and tripe dish called Cau Cau con Sangrecita, chicken sweetbread stew, and pan-fried beef liver.
