"Unfortunately not the best experience on our 3rd visit to Hummingbird. After great drinks at Noble Rot Wine Bar and a fantastic dinner and drinks at the Cuba Street Cafe we decided for an after dinner drink. We bypassed the fantastic offerings on Cuba Street and headed to Hummingbird. Upon arrival we were escorted to the Bar at the back which is Betty's. Finally got service by going to the bar rather than being served at our table. There were only two other couples in the bar so definitely very very quiet. Ordered wine and some fries. Wine arrived and no fries. Waiting.... waiting, finished our drinks and were keen to order another round and hopefully by then our fries will arrive. In the end we gave up, no fries, no eye contact to request another round and definitely no table service, just even to check in on how the drinks were and even an attempt to upsell would have been nice but obviously too much to ask. Upon settling the account we made it known that the fries didn't arrive. A token apology was made but really sort of killed the evening as we rated Hummingbird."

"I missed the Hummingbird bandwagon "back in the day", but as a customer of the revitalised Hummingbird, I can honestly say I am enjoying it. I've been multiple times since it re-opened late last year, and I've had both social and work dinners here. The food is always amazing; it is fancy but unpretentious, reasonably priced, and there are plenty of options to suit different groups. Definitely try the lamb and the gnocchi!"
