"I do not agree with some of the bad reviews here. The food was very tasty and portions a good size. As a traveller who has visited many countries I think this restaurant is as good as many I have visited. If everyone arrives at 6:30 - 7:00pm then yes things can be slow. At other times the food arrives very quickly. Price is similar to many restaurants in NZ. The restaurant looks good in side unlike many small town Thai restaurants. Try the lamb shank Massaman curry - NZ fusion but very Thai taste."

"We had a wonderful dining experience at Thai Siam Wanaka! We ordered the Tom Yum soup and the Sizzling Platter. Although there was a small mix-up — we had ordered beef for the Sizzling Platter but were served chicken instead — the staff handled it very well. They quickly checked with us whether we’d like to replace the dish or have our rice for free.
The restaurant was very busy, yet both female servers remained cheerful and friendly throughout, which we really appreciated.
As for the food, both dishes were delicious. The Tom Yum soup had the perfect balance of sour and spicy — truly authentic and not toned down for local tastes, which was impressive. The chicken on the Sizzling Platter was fresh and tender, and the rich, savory sauce went perfectly with rice.
We had a great time dining here, and we’d definitely come back the next time we visit Wanaka!"

Every dish is bursting with real Thai taste, perfectly balanced in spice, herbs, and seasoning. It honestly felt like I was back in Thailand!
The staff were absolutely lovely—warm, welcoming, and attentive. From the moment I walked in, they made sure I was taken care of, and their service was nothing short of excellent. The servers were so friendly and genuinely passionate about sharing Thai culture through their food.
