Discovering we could go fishing for salmon in Wanaka without getting wet, riding in a boat, or knowing anything about fishing, was a marvel in itself. We didn't fish, but we found a lovely shelter from the wind on a gusty day at Hook Wanaka. We had drinks, the sourdough bread, the sashimi plate, and the steak. All were delicious in a very lively ambiance.
