"VERY DISAPPOINTING. Would not support due to owner’s attitude. . Do not recommend. Food control plan not updated on the picture frame , as a public member, unsure if they are operating safely. Would not be surprise as they undercooked my salmon twice.
I got the salmon -market fish of the day. It was undercooked the first time. They remade the dish and it came out WORST 😂 the second salmon was raw and cold in the middle….
Absolutely horrible sorry. Please train your staff how to temp a salmon properly or recalibrate the probes.
Waited OVER an hour for food, the other tables were also scratching their eyes for the long wait too. Good customer service will usually offer 5%-10% discount or even a free drink on the house or complimentary bread as an apology. But nothing, the manger mentioned can’t do anything complimentary when food has been out despite how long it took. Also the owner response basically blaming customer for the added pressure to the team hence long waits... Even just a heads up to customers “hey we just got really busy and food will take over 40 mins, are you okay with that ?”. not taking full responsibility as a restaurant. Whilst I understand hiring staff/ short of staff is hard, it is still appalling to see that was the owner response to the long wait times… not sure if owner would want to wait over an hour for food at a restaurant. Owner’s response to other people’s poor review is quite sad. Bad reviews is also a way to improve your service."

"Haven’t been to Lone Star for a few years so excited to come to Taupō and find one here and DID NOT disappoint! Fabulous service and food with fantastic building and atmosphere. Food was impeccable and left full and content. Will be back when we return to this beautiful town!"
