"This restaurant was recommended by the hotel staff. Out of the options in Fox Glacier, we would say that this is a great one. We patiently waited at the bar with a local beer during 15 min for a table to be available. The service was warm and welcoming. The story of Betsey Jane and the pictures on the wall were very interesting and heartwarming! The food was very nice. We ordered the starter venison cigar, which tasted very nice, with Asian flavour to it. Then the lamb ragout and the salmon. All was very nice. Therefore would recommend it! Enjoy all!"

Spent close to 3 nights between Fox Glacier and Franz Josef. Was recommended by a local to try the food here and it was truly an amazing experience if you compare the food throughout the 2 small towns!
Firstly, service was impeccable. Staffs were friendly and attentive, more importantly the young gentleman (sorry didn't catch his name), was amazing. He was knowledgeable and extremely attentive.
Food - was recommended the fish and chips and it was one of the best i had so far in NZ. Batter was light and fish was soft and fresh. Amazing with the tartar sauce provided.
I also had the venison and it was definitely better than some of the restaurants i tried in NZ. Meat was tender and flavourful. Salad provided were interesting, combination of beetroot, walnut and buckwheat. Providing some form of crunch, freshness and texture.
It is the best restaurant between the two towns! Highly recommend!"
