Reviews Summary

FINZ Seafood & Grill is highly acclaimed for its exceptional seafood, particularly the Blue Cod Fish & Chips and fresh oysters. Diners consistently praise the stunning lakeside views and the attentive, friendly service, with specific mention of servers who enhance the dining experience. While considered a bit pricey by some, the quality of food and the overall ambiance make it a worthwhile culinary destination in Queenstown.

"Blue cod is one of the best fish in New Zealand, and FINZ does a great job with it. The fish and chips with blue cod was simple and delicious. We liked it so much we ordered it both times we visited. We also tried the baked Southern Lemon Sole, which was really tasty. It’s the same as flounder in other parts of the world. Definitely worth a try if you’re into good seafood."

"Our dinner at Finn’s Seafood was the perfect goodbye meal to Queenstown. The food was excellent, the service was fast and our server, Nadine, made the experience unforgettable. She was caring, attentive, and took the time to recommend really great options from the menu. Her warmth and professionalism made us feel very comfortable throughout the evening.

Highly recommend if you are in Queenstown!"

"On our second day in Queenstown, Mum and I had the most wonderful dining experience at “Finz Seafood & Grill” by the lakeside. The views were spectacular — perfectly matched by the food. We shared the “seafood platter” which brought together a little of everything from the menu. It was just the right portion for two, and every bite was a delight — the raw seafood was fresh, the fried items were light and crispy, and the curry gave us a lovely touch of home.

A special thank you to “Naomi (from Switzerland)”, who was the perfect hostess. Her warm recommendations, friendly demeanour, and attentive care made our evening even more memorable. We truly appreciated her hospitality and left feeling both happy and well looked after.

Highly recommend Finz for anyone looking for great food, stunning views, and genuine service."

Best Seafood Restaurants in Queenstown NZ

Finz Seafood and Grill Queenstown is another lovely restaurant on the pier that specialises, as you guessed it, in locally sourced seafood. From what we’ve experienced by eating at this amazing restaurant is that the portions are massive, but even so, you always want that extra bite of exquisite fish cooked to perfection. Enjoy a big platter of every sea creature you can think of with your group of friends and down it with a couple of pints, bonus points if it’s local beer!
