"Emma Lou's was one of the highlights of a recent trip to New Plymouth—definitely worth multiple visits!
We ordered the poke bowl ($24) with fried chicken, brown rice, kimchi, slaw, edamame, kewpie, Korean hot sauce, and house pickles, as well as the eggs and bacon ($24), which came with a potato & kumara hash, poached eggs, hollandaise, and bacon. Both dishes were beautifully presented and tasted just as amazing as they looked.
To top it off, we grabbed a macaron to go—they have such an incredible range of flavors! My favorite was the pistachio, which had a lovely nuttiness flavour without being overly sweet.
The service was great too. When we arrived, it was quite busy, but the staff were quick to clear tables and make space for us as soon as one became available.
Overall, Emma Lou’s is a must-visit for delicious food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere."
