Restaurant La Chaumière receives praise for its authentic French cuisine, affordable pricing, and cozy atmosphere. Reviewers often highlight the attentive service and the delightful fusion of French and Pacific influences. While many commend the quality and value, a few have noted that the menu could benefit from more variety and some dishes might be bland.
"Really lovey meal! My sister and I came here after reading many reviews and we were not disappointed. We got here at 6.50pm and it was empty, but 7.15 it was full. Lucky we got here early as we had no booking. We had the snails, mussels, the lamb shank and prawns and we shared all the dishes and was lovely. We had a bottle of red as well. The whole experience and staff were brilliant"

"First time to Noumea and every dish here was really good. We had the prawns for entree, Sheppard's pie for main and coconut with mango mousse. Loved the extra breads, side salads too."
Christelle Mneini
"Fantastic dining place near our hotel stay, the tuna au tartin was exquisite and it was accompanied by excellent sauvignon blanc (Dominique portet) and rose. My partner said it was the beat caesar salad she's ever had. The price was excellent at $69 for two in Noumea."

Restaurants in Noumea
The well-heeled locals love this little restaurant in the city's somewhat grungy Latin Quarter, drawn by the excellent prices and the food to match. A three-course lunch or dinner is just 3,280 CFP, and bottles of wine start around 1,900 CFP. Do as the French do and start with an escargot appetizer, or try the goat cheese flan, followed either by joues de boeuf (beef cheeks) or duck thigh in a creamy tarragon sauce.
