What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Dinarjat offers a magical dining experience with its stunning Andalusian ambiance, live traditional music, and authentic Moroccan cuisine. While many praise the exquisite flavors and attentive service, some find the prices high and the food occasionally inconsistent, with a few calling it a 'tourist trap' at times. It's recommended for its atmosphere and unique dishes, though value for money can be a consideration.
"What a memorable dining experience! We were a group of 4, came to Dinarjat for lunch. I was specifically interested to have salad. Menu listed two salads, 1. Fine salad, 2. Rich salad. Upon asking, we learned that rich salad had liver and brain. We opted for fine salad which was absolutely delicious. We ordered two tajine dishes, 1. Tajine tfaya (lamb), 2. Tajine Jarret de veau (veal). Prior to food served, the hostess brought water & towels to wash hands. We may term this place as high end restaurant (bill to Morocco Darham: 1133) however we are exceptionally satisfied (in fact very happy) with the fine food quality, service and above all ambiance. I highly recommend, if you are on the lookout for a unique and amazing experience."

"You are paying for the atmosphere and service, not the quality of the food. What I ordered was VERY PLAIN, my friend's dishes were better but only marginally. Considering the price point, I would consider it a crime against food an insult to intelligence.
There was very nice live music, and location was amazing. I would say go if you are in Rabat but only for drinks, DO NOT order this food at this price point."

"Noon to eat, is very hard to find outside looks like not in business, but push the door into the very obvious Moroccan flavor, food flavor general price is slightly higher, experience the Moroccan flavor restaurant can try!"

The best places to eat in Rabat
Located in Rabat’s ancient Medina, Dinarjat has been beloved by locals since it originally opened in 1990. The owner, Rachid El Guennouni, has gradually implemented a series of tasteful restorations to the riad that dates back to 1912; horseshoe-shaped arches have been reinforced and its walls have been coated in mottled tadelakt plaster. During the summer, the restaurant’s open-air patio is particularly popular, with cosy alcoves available for diners looking for a more intimate atmosphere.
Emily’s Guide to Rabat
If you want the full-out Moroccan dinner experience in a lavishly-appointed space, complete with some live music, and again, wine, there is Dinarjat in the medina. It’s a tourist magnet for sure, but Rabat doesn’t get all that many tourists, so it’s never too packed. Moving on from Moroccan food, my number one favorite restaurant in Rabat is the Spanish restaurant Sa Caleta, which makes a perfect tortilla, patatas bravas, fried eggplant drizzled in honey, and more.
