A local Marrakech dish is tanjia, pieces of meat slow cooked in a clay pot with lots of spices. The meat melts on your tongue and the spice mix is very unique. It is also traditionally eaten with bread.

Where: Overlooking Place des Ferblantiers on the edge of the Mellah in the medina. Nearby sights: Saadian Tombs, Badi Palace. Eating on the elegantly decked out roof terrace here is a bit of a treat.

Take care to sample Tanjia, a meat dish cooked in a clay urn that was made in Marrakech. You can find it in the old medina or at a typical restaurant Ferkous Délices.
