What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
El Asadero is widely praised for its exceptional steaks, particularly the flank steak and arrachera, and its vibrant atmosphere. Diners love the quality of the food, the generous portions, and the friendly, attentive service. While most experiences are overwhelmingly positive, a few reviews mention occasional inconsistencies in steak preparation.
"Best cocktail in Mexico so far! Plenty of booze, beautifully presented. Not the cheapest at 190 mxp but great value. Comes with chips and five different sauces. Service attentive without being pushy. Went back for dinner. Excellent! Very good food in sizable portions."

"I ordered a medium rare filet mignon, and got a well done filet mignon. Because it was overcooked, it had no flavor and was tough. For the price, it was very disappointing, and the waiter was not interested in the fact that it was overcooked. On the other hand, my daughter ordered a medium flank steak and it was a perfect medium rare, which is the way my steak should have been cooked. The flank steak was absolutely delicious. If I go back, that is definitely what I will order. We also ordered a cheese appetizer that was good and a very large portion. The restaurant has great atmosphere and the presentation of the food is excellent."

"El Asadero was a great spot with a relaxed vibe and really tasty food. The salmon carpaccio was fresh and light, and the grilled octopus was tender and full of flavor. David, our waiter, was friendly and made sure we were well taken care of. You can feel the warmth in the place—Marco and Patty, the owners, clearly put a lot of love into what they do. Definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and want to enjoy a lovely evening while having incredible dishes!"

Besides great breakfasts of papaya and yogurt at the hotel, we enjoyed a dinner at El Asadero, a popular place that is worth the wait. (Or get there early, as we did.) We also had some really good food from a street place on the same road as our Hotel Lo Nuestro: on Calle Osiris Sur (right across from the “Casa de la Cultura,” in case your taxi isn't familiar with it). The various open street restaurants offer sodas and juices, no beer or liquor.
