What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Archie's Wok is a beloved Asian fusion restaurant praised for its fresh and delicious cuisine and welcoming, family-like service. While many rave about unique flavors and a cozy atmosphere with various seating options, a few diners have noted inconsistencies in taste and portion sizes, and one review found the food to be overly salty and not authentic.
"Excellent restaurant! 5 stars all the way! Our favorite of all time! The food is always so fresh and delicious. We have been coming here for years and have recommended it to so many of our friends and family bringing many of them here. The family that runs it makes you feel like family when you dine and their attention to detail is unbelievable from the dishes to the drinks to their amazing desserts! I can honestly say that this restaurant has become
one of our favorite Asian restaurant in all of our travels throughout North America! Don’t miss the chance of coming to this sensational dinning experience!"

"Food: 1/5 it’s not legit. If you want something legit this is not the place.
Overall it was too salty and didn’t resemble the legit taste at all. If you’ve lived in Asia you’d be pretty upset. Their tom yum soup resembles a tomato soup closer to American soup. It was broth like and it had tofu in it.
Portion: 2/5 considering it’s like 300-400 per dish and we’ve been to a few places in Vallarta already, the portion size was terrible. Quality wasn’t great either. They literally had like 10 pieces on beef on one dish.
Service: 3/5 water had dusts and sand like things in them. English 2/5 I gave them a 3 as they did cancel the tom yum soup in our order. But they didnt check up on us neither gave us any water refill.
Overall: atmosphere isn’t bad they had good location and decor was pretty, but the food is terrible. Im not sure why the ratings are good. I wouldn’t come back again. Considering this to be like almost North American price the food was terrible."

"Dog friendly..but it could have been the time of day and it being slow.
Tons of flavor in a massive clump of over cooked noodles and meat. The first dish I sent back due to unclean shrimp.
It's got flavor and potential...and its been around forever. But it just wasn't there for my visit."

But his widow Cynthia Alpenia, daughter Kiyoki and son Sergio carry on the legacy of this lovely Asian fusion restaurant. The menu pays tribute to most of the Asian cuisines – lumpia Filipino eggrolls, Cantonese-style cashew chicken, fragrant Cambodian red beef curry simmered with tamarind and coconut milk, and Vietnamese fish wrapped in banana leaves and grilled over charcoal.Thai classics – like their popular Pad Thai, Thai garlic shrimp with fresh ginger, and beef tongue in Thai coconut sauce with basil – stand out.
