Reviews Summary

Lechoncito de Oro is a highly acclaimed street food gem in Oaxaca, celebrated for its incredibly delicious and tender suckling pig tacos, particularly those with chicharrón. While many rave about the rich flavors and authentic experience, some find the tacos to be on the smaller side, and the salsa can be quite spicy for some palates. Despite potential queues, most agree it's a worthwhile late-night culinary adventure.

"Fast, extremely delicious, and an amazing MUNCH! tacos, tostadas, and tortas. Definitely hit this spot if in Oaxaca!"

Chelsey Jacobs

"The tacos and the meat is just average and nothing great. The line moved quickly and the service was good. However, I was not wowed. They ran out of Tortas, so we have the tacos and tostada. There was a good amount of meat on the toastada and the tacos were small, but not too expensive. There are so many great places to eat, so I and most likely would not return. Note: This is a taco stand on the street. Take out orders or eat standing."

Where to eat in Oaxaca, Mexico

Lechoncito de Oro was quite literally a glowing beacon of light and suckling pig in the otherwise darker, quieter streets just outside the centre of Oaxaca. The beacon had attracted a substantial queue; always an excellent sign. The twenty minute wait allowed our anticipation for the promised tacos to marinate to perfection and boy did they hit the spot.
