Even though Qūentin has become something of a small chain (there are four of them throughout the city), it’s managed to maintain the feel of a local coffee shop. And while the Avenida Amsterdam location in Condesa isn’t as big as some of the other places on this guide, you can still snag a table if you come early (they open at 7am during the week, and 8am on weekends) or later in the afternoon. Their coffee is considered some of the best in town, and make sure to pair it with a pastry, like the banana cake or one of the daily donut assortments.

(The team is also behind the new Mendl Delicatessen in Condesa.) The cutest café is the one in Hipódromo, right by Parque México – it’s a super cozy shop with indoor and outdoor seating. You can sit on stools at the bar or in the back section which has cozy couches and a skylight.

This locally loved coffee shop was one of the best lattes I had during my last trip, and I specifically remember being very surprised by how delicious the espresso tasted.

If the lines are too long, or you’re looking for a grab-and-go option, then head over to the café’s sister spot: Quentin on Avenida Amsterdam (there are a few outposts in the city—use Google Maps wisely). Here, you’ll find the same delicious coffee and chai lattes as at Mendl and even more pastries, including one of the best chocolate banana bread slices in the city—it’s half dipped in powdered sugar and reminiscent of a yin-yang symbol.

I was starting to give up on good coffee and lattes in Mexico City when I luckily came across Quentin while waiting for Expendio de Maíz Sin Nombre to open. There are multiple Quentin locations throughout Mexico City in Roma Norte, Condesa, and Juárez. This was the best coffee I’ve had in Mexico City, and it was really the only one of its type I found that matched my tastes, which is the 3rd wave specialty coffee scene in America.

One of the best coffee shops in Mexico City and one that should not be missed is Quentin Cafe. This cafe uses only premium coffee beans and other ingredients to make their coffee drinks, which guarantees high quality and value for money. Quentin Café also hosts various artistic performances by musicians, painters, and other artists as a way to promote cultural integration throughout the city.

Speciality coffee (the place for quality coffee) and pastries in this trendy neighbourhood café. A perfect spot to grab a coffee on your morning walk or to catch up with friends at the weekend. Qūentin coffee shops are small so although you will find the odd laptop out during the week there isn't a great deal of space so I’d leave this place for quality coffee to enjoy at your leisure.

Quentin: People RAVE about Quentin and I can only apologise if you’re one of them, but I don’t see the appeal. First off, it’s quite small, so if you’re going to work, you’ll find it all too easy to get distracted by the too loud Americans (usually) that seem to populate this café. I will say that, while the coffee is just OK, the wifi is decent and there are plenty of plugs though.

One of those CDMX jewels for coffee lovers (varieties from Ethiopia, Colombia, Chiapas or Oaxaca). Here you will find some of the best prepared baristas in Mexico, so you can have a coffee experience like never before. Although it is small, the patio in the back is very bright and full of plants, with beautiful colorful armchairs.

With its neat interior design, Quentin Café is a perfect place to enjoy a delicious coffee and pastries, indoors or outdoors on a small terrace, which overlooks the street. Quentin café has three branches in Mexico City, two of which are perfect for digital nomads. The other café (Avenida Yucatan) only offers take-away products.

Amsterdam 67A, Hipódromo, 06100 Ciudad de México, CDMX, Mexico. Quentin is my second favorite coffee shop in Condesa. It’s great for work but it is pretty small (like, five tables) so if you like to be surrounded by people when you work, this might not be the place for you.

You’ll see a few Quentin Café locations scattered around the Roma Norte and Condesa areas (some of the best areas to stay in Mexico City), and it’s definitely one of the more popular coffee shops in Mexico City. They don’t do flavors here—but honestly?

This small chain coffee shop became my absolute favorite place to get coffee in Mexico City. The flat white is truly delicious—the best I found in the city—but. I became obsessed with the cardamom and raspberry pastries at the Roma Norte branch.

One of the baristas from Cafe Quentin recently came to Guadalajara for a pop-up/take over event at Fitzroy. They also brought a ton of coffee with them. I drank several bags of a washed Guerrero that I really enjoyed but couldn’t get again.

Qūentin Café has a few locations around the city, but I believe the first location was in Roma along Alvaro Obregon. This is a great spot for coffee and pastries. I love their simple croissants and fluffy focaccia bread.

Quentin is one of the most famous coffee shops in Mexico City, but it still has a cozy and European feel. You can read a book, chat, or enjoy a good specialty coffee here. It is a peaceful oasis in the busy Colonia Roma.

I was chatting with a barista in San Miguel de Allende and he was telling me that Mexico, as a whole, doesn’t have a strong coffee-drinking culture.
