What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Café PalReal is celebrated for its trendy ambiance, delicious brunch options like chilaquiles, and excellent coffee. Service is often described as warm and attentive, with staff going the extra mile. However, some reviewers found portions to be small and service inconsistent, with occasional issues regarding dish accuracy or attention from certain staff members.
"Great interiors and delicious brunch. It was blue corn tortillas paired with the chorizo platter. Beautiful yard in the back.
We were curious about a chili ingredient and because of limited Spanish, we were googling back and forth on translation. The waiter is so kind and brought back phone to Google up the picture of the chili pepper to show us. So warm and patient!"

"Food was decent, the service was OK, the atmosphere is very nice. I ordered a Lonche de pancita (pork belly sandwich) and got a sandwich that, in my opinion, was pork leg. I didn't want to wait to wait to discuss and maybe get a replacement sandwich, so I just went ahead and ate it. It was OK, but with the Pajarito (bottled) salsa added, the flavor improved. Their cappuccino is very delicious. The atmosphere is nice. I sat at the bar, the service was mixed, with some servers being very attentive, while my server was just OK at best.
I will come back to try other items in the menu, and will seat in their patio next time."

"Delicious and absolutely would go back!
The iced latte was great, and they made a flat white cold for my friend as well. The waiters were very helpful and suggested good plates based on my allergies.
I got 2 different vegetarian tacos, which came on blue corn tortillas, and they were SO tasty. Very different flavors between the two - which was wonderful. Their hot sauce was worth a try as well, such a nice kick!
This adorable cafe has multiple levels and spaces to sit, so you could have a favorite spot or a different one each time. The atmosphere is lovely at lunch time - very chill and open."

Eating your way through Guadalajara's dynamic restaurant scene
The waits at Lafayette hotspot Café Palreal can be a drag if you're itching for the first meal of the day and, most importantly, coffee. This obstacle doesn't seem to deter many from eating what I was told is Guadalajara's best breakfast surrounded by hip cement tile work and lush greenery. We spent a morning at the cozy coffee bar area that contains all of three bar stools, spreading sweet farm cheese on biscuits, slurping down perfect cappuccinos and chatting with the gregarious baristas.

On Searching for Mexico, Longoria visited several eateries in Guadalajara, referencing the city’s “new generation of food pioneers.” Among them, chef Fabian Delgado Padilla’s outposts Café palReal (C. Lope de Vega 113, in the trendy Colonia Americana neighborhood) and Yunaites, a stall with more affordable fare in the Mercado IV Centenario market (Calle Garibaldi 824). At both places, Longoria indulged in variations of pork belly with mole dulce sauce.

With its minimalist decor, multitudes of plants, and lovely ceramics, this place strikes a perfect balance between cozy and fashionable.
