Birriería La Victoria is celebrated for its incredibly flavorful and authentic Guadalajara-style birria, with many hailing it as the best they've ever tasted. Diners praise the tender meats, delicious consomé, and friendly service in a charming retro atmosphere. While some reviews mention minor issues like finding a hair, the overwhelming sentiment is one of high satisfaction and a strong desire to return.
"I had tacos and my wife had the complete plate - both with beef. Initially I ordered 2 tacos, but they were so good, I ordered two more. Our server spoke some English which was better than our little Spanish and she took excellent care of us. We loved this restaurant."

"Muy sabroso! This was the single best food I had in my three-week visit to Jalisco in Feb-March 2024.
I ate lunch at Birrieria La Victoria on three separate occasions. La Victoria is the real deal -- and, by far, it offered the best of the four goat birrierias I tried around the city. The broth (consomme) had an incredibly delicious deep flavor, and the meat was equally tasty with a lovely light crispness. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Ste. Teresita is a mere 15-minute walk from La Colonia.
Highly recommended!"

"Some of the best birria I’ve ever had. Very simple place without all the bells and whistles. But when the food is this good, who needs ‘em? Price is right and food comes out quick. Come get you some!"

Every Essential Restaurant in Guadalajara, Mexico
Birrieria la Victoria is technically a fonda/restaurante, but I had just a light bite in mind for my visit, so I’m placing it in the antojitos category (plus, could I really start a Guadalajara post with anything other than birria?). The Birria here is ultra-traditional—which makes sense, as they’ve been serving Tapatíos since 1948 (the walls are covered in framed newspapers from historical events that have occurred since they opened!). Whether you choose to dip or pour your consomé is up to you; birria is a non-negotiable when visiting the city.
