We had the pork tacos, black ceviche, and stuffed poblano pepper for our midday meal to share. Every bite was delectable! Looking forward to their special Valentine's menu on our next visit. "Wow! What happened to the food at La Lunita? This was our favorite romantic restaurant. I've eaten there at least 10 times. We got the Pad Thai lobster and it was like eating nothing but vinegar. No heat, no salt. The lobster wasn't bad as it was cooked properly but the whole dish was ruined by bitter/sweet. We paid and tipped but won't return. You can see the presentation was nice but it was not edible."

"2nd visit. Food created with love. Beautiful presentation. Had delicious mixed ceviches both times. Drinks were great. The service was outstanding. The beach front was lovely to relax and unwind. Take your time and enjoy the nature. Know what to order. If you order Pad Thai, don’t expect it to be like in Thailand, lol. This is Mexico. I could eat there everyday. Will go back."

It was only a short drive to: Akumal's Half Moon Bay with its corals just off shore and an unusually fine restaurant La Lunita (on way to the Yal Ku lagoon), the superb public beach just south of the ruins in Tulum (passing a well stocked supermarket), and the interesting jungle ruins of Coba. The adjacent Xcacel beach may be the prettiest of all--just watch for falling coconuts in the white sand parking area there. We did not do cenote diving but the most acclaimed holes are in the immediate vicinity.

We didn't make it to La Lunita this time but ate at Que Onda (good), La Buena Vida (t-shirts were better than the food), Cueva del Pescador (ask for Carlos) and Turtle Bay Cafe (wifi!!!!) many times - also had the best coconut ice cream next door to Lol Ha!!. For sweet bread, try the bakery/pizza shop in the pueblo (next to the pharmacy) - yum!

Many good restaurants in the area, including La Lunita in Notrh Akumal and Cetli in Tulum. My grandchildren were so excited when the green sea turtles hatched under the moonlight…a magical experience. We were able to go on a nature tour by boat in the Sian Kaan Biosphere…I recommend Osprey Tours.
