What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Pak Putra Restaurant is a highly acclaimed spot in Melaka, celebrated for its exceptionally tender and flavorful tandoori chicken and soft, fluffy naan, especially the cheese variants. Diners also praise the rich curries and refreshing lassis. While the food consistently garners rave reviews and offers great value, some find the open-air setting can be warm and packed during peak hours.
"One of Melaka’s legendary spots for tandoori and naan! Pak Putra Restaurant delivers consistently flavorful, juicy tandoori chicken with that perfect char and smoky aroma. Their naan — especially the cheese or garlic — is soft, fluffy, and always fresh from the tandoor. Pair it with their thick, rich curries or dhal, and you’re in for a seriously satisfying meal. It gets super busy in the evenings, but the service is surprisingly fast and efficient. Great for late-night cravings, and the open-air setup adds to the vibe. A must-visit if you’re in Melaka!"

"When we arrived, there was a pretty long queue. We had to wait for a while, also because there were 6 of us.
While we waited, i watched the chefs cooked the naan & tandoor chicken in the front area of the restaurant.
They used the traditional big clay pots to cook all the food.
The naan, especially the cheese was divine. Soft (not tough) with the right amount of chewiness. It tasted good, too. Kiddos were devouring and enjoyed them very much. The naan was the star of the show.
The butter chicken was not as creamy as i thought it would be. It's more to the refreshing side rather than creamy.
Chicken pasanda was mild curry suitable for kids. It contained cashew nuts.
The chicken tandoor came out with charred skin, tasted smokey and tasty.
Mango lassi was refreshing & cut through the richness of the curries. Perfect drink for the meal.
Unfortunately, there was no air condition, because it was an open style restaurant. And it was packed with people inside."

"Just come here to try out the food.
Ok the con first. Its abit pricey on the higher end. Total bill 98RM.
Given the wonderful tasting food, its worth the price for a once-in-awhile type of food i would go for.
Ordered the following.
- Tandoori chicken
- Butter Chicken
- Chicken Briyani
- Garlic, Onion and Butter Naan.
Food is very good i must day. Out of what i expected.
Both Butter and Tandoori Chicken goes well with the Naan. Taste very light, yet flavourful. Naan is quite thick, so if not very hungry, order 1 piece will do.
Tandoori doesnt taste dry to my liking. If you find it dry, it comes with green chilli sauce, not too spicy and with lime, very appetising.
Butter Chicken gravy is wonderful, goes very well with Naan. On first bite, you will want more. Chicken is very tender, its good to wrap it with the Naan, dip with the gravy, its so good.
Naan comes with Daal, also goes well with Naan. Naan are freashly baked and fluffy, so may take some time after ordering.
The staff taking order is humorous and helpful.
Overall, good dining experience here and really good food. Recommend to come try if you have never tried Pakistani/ North Indian style food."
