Reviews Summary

Calanthe Art Cafe is lauded for its unique '13 States' Coffee' concept and artistic, bohemian ambiance, creating a memorable experience. While many praise the flavorful laksa and the cafe's creative decor, some find the seating uncomfortable and note that service speed can vary. The coffee selection is a major draw, though the flavor intensity of some brews is a point of discussion.

"Revisited them 2 years later.
Unique concept of trying different states coffee and there is a difference in taste indeed.

Kopi o kosong tasted nicer and stronger/roasted than the perek kopi c kosong Ice but personal preference. Like how it looks so frothy despite being a kopi o.

Didn't realise this but the sweet sago dessert is a FANTASTIC combination with the bitter kopi o kosong, nicely contrasting :D"

J

"Mmm.

The service is ok only given they use QR scan for customers to take their own order. Only service is when they bring the food to the customers.

Nostalgic deco and warm atmosphere, but the seating is not comfortable. Table is too close to the cabin stool.

Food - nasi lemak is ok and I quite like it. However, the chicken chop is pretty bad on the meat. It’s not fresh. The sauce is too sweet…

Drink - I ordered a state coffee but the taste of it doesn’t taste too local and very thin flavour.

I’ll visit again for their other food and coffee still given there’s many options to choose."

Bridget Hong

"Calanthe Art Cafe in Malacca is a truly charming spot that beautifully blends character, comfort, and flavor. The ambience is warm, artistic, and inviting—perfect for relaxing or spending time with family & friends. Their coffee is outstanding, offering rich flavors and great variety. The food menu is equally impressive, with the Laksa standing out as one of the best in Malacca—creamy, aromatic, and packed with authentic taste. From the unique decor to the attentive service, everything about this café makes it a memorable experience. A must-visit for anyone exploring Malacca."
