Perched high above the city, Nobu Kuala Lumpur offers a dining experience where Japanese precision meets Peruvian flair. I recently dropped by for their lunch set, and it turned into a delightful afternoon escape.
The meal began with a crispy shiitake mushroom salad, and I have to say – it was love at first bite. The earthy crunch of the mushrooms, lightly dressed, felt unique and refreshing. Next came the tuna sashimi salad – silky slices of tuna balanced by a tangy dressing that made each bite feel perfectly harmonious.
For the mains, the salmon arrived tender and flavorful, though the crispy leaf on the side leaned a bit too heavy on the oil. The sushi set was fresh and clean-tasting, but nothing that pushed the boundaries of creativity. The grilled cod was slightly overdone, with its edges turning dark, yet the miso-infused sweetness still managed to shine through.
Dessert was pure indulgence – a playful spread of ice cream flavors, from classic vanilla to more adventurous options, making it hard to choose just one.
