LOKL is a favorite amongst coffee lovers located in central KL. One of my favorite touches at LOKL is how the coffee menu is divided between Western coffee and local coffee, making it easy for visitors to try their caffeine Malaysian style. LOKL has subway tiles and wooden tables that complement Malaysian art that hangs from the walls in 3D frames.

I opted for the two-course meal and enjoyed a fish burger and profiteroles (LOOK AT THEM).

Like VCR, LOKL attracts a younger scene– it’s attached to a hostel, after all. This means a slightly louder, more social vibe, but you’ll still see plenty of keyboard-tapping among the crowd. It’s a bit outside of the more touristy areas, but easily accessible from the city center.
