The largest strawberry farm in Malaysia, Genting Strawberry Leisure Farm is situated in Bandar Gohtong Jaya and also includes other fruit farms and flower gardens. With more than 10,000 plants, it provides a large selection of fresh fruits and vegetables that are produced organically. Visitors have the option of picking fresh strawberries from the farm, purchasing them at the farm market, or eating strawberries straight from the farm.

It’s a few kilometres below the peak of Genting Highlands and serves as the base cable car station for the Genting Skyway. Welcome to Gohtong Jaya, a little town that couldn’t be more different from the glitzy lights and sounds of the Genting Highland Resorts high above. The prices are cheap and the food are good – we’d recommend these two restaurants for those looking for a change of scenery from the resort’s restaurants.

For those on a road trip to Genting Highlands, a stopover for food at Gohtong Jaya is highly recommended. Gohtong Jaya is a small town at the foothills of Genting Highlands, about 5 km before Resorts World Genting, located on the peak.Row of shophouses offering good and cheap local food at Gohtong Jaya. If you are a seafood lover, don’t miss an opportunity to taste some of the best seafood creation in Gohtong Jaya. The area is just a ten-minute drive from the high-end Genting’s resorts and you will see rows and rows of restaurants that offer a variety of fresh catch. Gohtong Jaya also serves as the base for the Skyway Station for the Genting cable car ride.

Most of the restaurants along the aforementioned row are good, but my personal favourite is Loong Kee. Just take a look at the crowds inside and you’ll know that you’re making the right choice. This place has fair prices, uses fresh ingredients resulting in scrumptious flavours, and food is delivered at the speed of light.

On my way back from Bentong, I decided to visit Genting Highlands Fashion outlets that are located near Gohtong Jaya. Spending the evening at Genting Highlands is a great way to wind your day. The trip to Bentong is also manageable if you are staying at Genting Highlands for the weekend.

Rasanya amat lazat, sup lala besar mempunyai perisa yang memang menggugah selera, begitu juga setelah diisi semula. Makanan di sini sangat baik, bahan-bahannya segar dan hidangan itu enak. Walaupun sesak, sistem yang mereka ada sangat berkesan dan tungguan dikekalkan pada tahap minimum.

Loong Kee is famous for its exceptional steamed fish with flavours you’ve never had before!. It gets crowded on weekends, but the varieties they serve are absolutely worth the wait. Aside from the steamed fish, the crispy pork belly is also a must-orde – according to their customers!

A car ride typically takes about an hour from KL city centre, plus, you’ll be afforded the luxuries of stopping off at a few of the attractions along the way – including the piece of land within the hill station just below the resort called Gohtong Jaya township.

One of the most popular eating spots in Genting is the satellite town of Gohtong Jaya located just a 5 - 10mins drive from Awana Bus Terminal. Many come to enjoy favourite local flavors and fresh seafood along the rows of old shophouses.

On your way up or down from Genting Highlands, make a pit stop at Long Kee Gohtong Jaya and you’ll not regret it. The restaurant is famous for its steam marble goby (Soon Huat). They catch this right out of the tank when you order.
