A great night out is guaranteed, and on the beer front they keep it simple: you’re essentially choosing from either “light” or “dark” beer across six or seven breweries, so decide your time of day and order away – you can’t really go wrong.

We went to several bars and restaurants during our time in Riga but this cavernous inn was our highlight, so much so that we went back every day. We are happy to report beer prices are cheaper than most old town bars (e.g. 5 Euros for two large dark beers – our favourite!) and the interiors are very atmospheric. With live music most nights, Folkklubs is always heaving (although each time we visited we eventually managed to get a table – just have patience and pick your moment carefully).

Folkklubs also had some great unique ciders, as well as yummy traditional dishes – including ‘beer snacks.' At Easy Pour, they also have great food (including some amazing pizza), but our favorite thing about this place was its easy tasting options.
