Reviews Summary

Diners consistently praise Indigo Cafe for its delicious coffee, fresh pastries, and friendly service. The rooftop view overlooking the night market is a major highlight, offering a unique dining ambiance. While prices are noted as being on the higher side for Luang Prabang, the quality and portion sizes generally justify the cost.

"The place is very nice. Prices are quite high. Food is tasty. We had just few juices and pizza. And pizza is big which is good. Because I was afraid of a tiny overpriced one. But luckily this place is pretty good."

Yuliia Tkach

7 amazing cafes in Luang Prabang, Laos where you can chill out and relax

Another good cafe to try out in town is the Indigo Cafe, located just down the road from the Royal Palace. This cafe offers a wide variety of food and drinks, but what makes it so famous is its bakery, with its delicious fresh bread and pastries. I ordered a hot Lao coffee, which comes with condensed milk at the bottom (milk is optional), and a delicious buttery croissants.

Luang Prabang - Cafes

100% Lao Arabica coffee is served in the charming setting of Indigo Café. Aside from the strong coffee, the cafeteria features awesome vegan and non-vegan options, scrumptious cakes and pastries, but the real cherry on top is the breezy terrace that makes the atmosphere even more pleasant; the view goes out onto the Night Market.

While Indigo Cafe is located in the busiest part of town, inside their walls you’ll find a pleasant place to tuck away for a meal. The aqua colored theme exudes relaxation and their food is fresh, tasty and it’s made with a purpose. They own an organic farm which sources the majority of their seasonal ingredients.

We met up with some friends at a bar, the Indigo Cafe, which was very close to the food markets. It had a roof top area with bean bags and mats on the floor where we could relax with drinks. Plus the view of the markets all lit up was pretty cool too.
