What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
La Tablita is celebrated for its authentic Argentine parrilla, particularly the Patagonian lamb, and a cozy yet stylish atmosphere. While many praise the quality of the meats, the extensive wine list, and the attentive staff, some diners find the experience to be on the pricier side. A few reviews mentioned inconsistent seasoning or overcooked lamb, but overall, it's considered a top dining choice in El Calafate.
"Absolutely fantastic restaurant! Everything just came together here. The food the service the ambiance was just right! It’s off the main strip but not far at all. The mix meat platter was so good! The sauces was just right! Definitely check them out if you are in Calafate. It gets busy so don’t show up too late."

"Very nice traditional lamb place that's not on the main street, but just on the side. The wines are great and so is the food. It's very spacious and in the winter, you can walk in. The summer might be different"

"Overall, it was an enjoyable dining experience—on the pricier side, but comparable to other quality restaurants in El Calafate.
I previously visited another spot to try the renowned Cordero Patagónico, but had to return the dish and leave due to poor quality. Thankfully, the lamb here was far superior—flavorful and nicely prepared. While it was slightly overcooked for my preference, the leaner meat may explain the drier texture. Still, the seasoning and the subtle smokiness from the wood-fired grill added a unique and satisfying taste.
Since it was low season, the restaurant wasn’t busy, which made for a peaceful and elegant atmosphere. The setting was refined, contributing to an overall pleasant vibe.
A glass of decent Malbec wine cost around 10,000 pesos (approximately $9 USD at the current exchange rate). I’ve attached the menu with June 2025 pricing for reference.
This is definitely one of the better dining options in town—but be prepared to spend a bit more for quality."

It's a couple of extra blocks from downtown and across a little white bridge, but this parrilla is where the locals go for a special night out to watch their food as it's cooking; Patagonian lamb and beef ribs roast gaucho-style on frames hanging over a circular asador, and an enormous grill along the back wall is full of steaks, chorizos, and morcilla (blood sausage). The whole place is filled with a warm glow despite the lackluster decor. It's slightly more expensive than other parillas in the center of town—and almost always fully booked—but has a classier atmosphere that will make you want to linger for dessert, if you have room.
