Yoroniku in Tokyo — came for the yakiniku, stayed for the view 😏 Checked out the Ebisu branch today, hidden on the 8th floor of a business building. They don’t let anyone in before 5PM, so don’t bother being early!

Reviews Summary

Yoroniku Ebisu is celebrated for its exceptional Wagyu beef and refined omakase-style yakiniku experience. Diners rave about the melt-in-your-mouth quality of the meats and unique signature dishes like the truffle zabuton-no-sukiyaki. The attentive service and skilled grill masters enhance the dining journey. While generally praised, some find the dessert options less impressive, and the reservation process can be challenging.

"Hard to get a seat, but thankfully, I made it for our 10 PM reservation on our first night in Tokyo, almost too tired to go—glad I didn't miss it! This is a next-level Yakiniku compared to anything I have tried in the US.

The amazing skill of our adorable grill master at Yoroniku made the beef unbelievably tender and perfectly cooked without even being hot to the touch. Eating it was beyond imagination—so good, I almost thought it wasn't real beef!

Dipping the meat in raw egg, a staple for Japanese BBQ, was a delight. The beef tartare and crispy baguette topped everything I've had in the US. The finale, beef with raw egg and black truffle rice, was just unbeatable.

Of all the top-rated spots on Tabelog we tried over six days in Tokyo, Yoroniku is my top recommendation. And think about it— the most expensive set here is only a little bit over USD$100. What you get for the same price in the Bay Area just doesn’t compare, not even close."

"First off, I want to say that the taste of every single piece of meat we ate was incredibly delicious. They all left a lasting impression on us.
The service was excellent, clean, and efficient. We had the tasting menu, and it took approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. We drank sake with it, and the total we paid was 43,000 YEN.
You absolutely must make a reservation. It's very close to a JR line metro station, so transportation is very easy.
A couple of minor downsides I can mention: Desserts in Japan are generally a bit disappointing. The matcha tea served with crushed ice isn't a good dessert. This isn't specific to this place, but rather a general observation.
My second point is that along with the tasting menu, I was told I absolutely had to order a drink for my daughter. I insisted on water, but the waiter said we definitely needed to order a drink. I didn't understand this and couldn't make sense of it. I hope I don't encounter a similar situation again.
Other than that, everything was wonderful and enjoyable."

"On 2025/05/13 we went here for a late dinner at 21:30 reservation. We were immediately seated upon arrival at 5 minutes early. Service was well with our girl server first spoke Japanese and then in English after our request. She doesn’t speak very well but tried hard enough to earn my appreciation.
There are four set courses to choose which you’d have to decided at reservation. We ordered the Ebisu set which was the second expensive one. We both had sufficient meats thru the course and felt it was the right choice. The most expensive course had additional of raw beef nigiri and truffle added to the last serving of sukiyaki. We may try that next time.
Overall it was a good experience with a decent CP value considering what quality of beef was served. Some beef tasted so terrific that they melted in our mouths literally. Some were a challenge for us when they were served raw. We like the place and honestly felt the money was worthy. At last, all servers here, girls and boys, were above average good looking that they are clearly selected. It is worth the trip just to see them. Kidding aside."

Yakiniku translates to “grilled meat” and refers to Japanese-style BBQ; traditionally, it was a very casual cuisine with customers grilling their meat at their seats. However, the DJ-turned-owner and chef Hideyuki “Vanne” Kuwahara (more widely known as “Vanne-san”) pioneered a higher-end remix of the genre – an omakase-style course with dedicated staff attentively cooking each piece of carefully selected quality wagyu, on a grill built into the table in front of guests. Their signature zabuton-no-sukiyaki is one of their most famous original dishes, consisting of thinly sliced premium shimofuri (marbled beef) chuck flap that is lightly braised and served with a slightly sweet special sauce and raw egg yolk.

Also it is recommended to have someone who knows Japanese to help you book because with the websites, you will have to rely on Google translate sometimes and sometimes the translation may not be understandable, so you might end up booking a set menu when you actually could have just booked a table with a la carte instead (what happened to us with Yoroniku Ebisu).
