What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Sushimasa is celebrated for its exceptional quality sushi and intimate dining atmosphere, offering a memorable omakase experience. Guests often praise the friendly and accommodating service, with staff readily assisting non-Japanese speakers. While many find the value excellent for the quality, some reviews mention a decline in portion size and inconsistent service depending on seating.
"Last night I had the pleasure of dining at Sushimasa Ginza, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience! The restaurant offers 6 private rooms along with seating options that allow you to enjoy the chefs' creations up close. I was fortunate enough to try one of the private rooms while indulging in their tasting course, which is priced between JPY 15,000 and JPY 19,999 for dinner.
Located just a 3-minute walk from Higashi-Ginza Station on the Hibiya Subway Line, Sushimasa Ginza is easily accessible. The restaurant prides itself on using a wide variety of fresh seasonal ingredients, and I was particularly impressed by the staff's ability to communicate effectively in English, providing detailed explanations of each dish served.
The ambiance was perfect for unwinding after a long day, with chill music that complemented the dining experience beautifully. I can confidently say that this was one of the best omakase meals I've ever had, making it well worth the price. If you're looking for a place to enjoy exquisite sushi in a relaxing setting, Sushimasa Ginza is definitely a top choice!"

"THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST SUSHI RESTAURANTS OF MY LIFE! Last week, I visited this restaurant to celebrate my birthday, and it was also my first time trying omakase, which was a wonderful experience for me.
First, we arrived late for our reservation because we took the wrong subway, but they welcomed us very kindly. Second, the chef and the female staffs made a genuine effort to explain their dishes and the traditional way to eat sushi. They also had translator devices, which helped a lot.
Third, every dish was amazing! I had never eaten raw shrimp and uni before, but I tried those dishes this time, and they were incredible. I really wanted to thank the chef for his cooking. It was one of the best meals I’ve ever had in Japan. I felt like the sushi I had eaten before was fake, and this was the real deal!
If you want to try traditional Japanese sushi in Ginza at a reasonable price with memorable service, why don’t you give it a try?"

"The appearance gives a very appealing image with beautiful hinoki at the counter and the fish excellent. But after visiting Japan over 200 times, this is the first time that the service was so bad that I decided to leave the restaurant before the end of the meal. So much so, that I can say that gaijin are NOT welcome. I speak enough Japanese to be able to order in Japanese and read most of the menu. To be avoided if you want an enjoyable meal."
