What Travellers Say

Kanesaka is a highly acclaimed two-Michelin-star sushi restaurant celebrated for its authentic Edomae-style sushi and exceptional quality. Diners consistently praise the freshness of the ingredients, the precision of the chefs, and the elegant ambiance. However, the high price point is a recurring concern, with some finding the value for money debatable despite the superb culinary experience.
"This place really deserve Michelin stars. My first time was 3 years ago and i just went back to Sushi Kanesaka last week sushi was even better than before. For me this show a lot of passions and hardwork that the chef put in his crafts. Kanesaka San always friendly to his customers I really love this place!"

"A Great Experience, but a Hard-to-Justify Price Point
We visited Omakase Kanesaka and took the time to compare our experience with other high-end establishments in Tokyo, including several two- and three-Michelin-starred restaurants, in order to provide a well-rounded and constructive review.
The welcome was exceptional: the chef and his team greeted us warmly in a traditional and elegant setting, typical of this type of restaurant. A thoughtfully curated wine list complemented the meal beautifully.
The quality of the fish, the precision of the rice, and the originality of some of the dishes were truly impressive. Each course was introduced with care and enthusiasm by the chef, who was both friendly and passionate, making the experience even more enjoyable.
That said, one major issue tempered our overall impression: the price. The set menu is priced at 60,000 yen per person (excluding drinks), which is around €350 — nearly double what we paid at other two-star Michelin restaurants of similar caliber in Tokyo.
With a bottle of white wine and two glasses of champagne, the total bill exceeded €1,000. Unfortunately, this left us with a sense of imbalance between cost and value, despite the quality of the experience.
While we had a lovely time and appreciated the cuisine, the excessive pricing leaves a bitter aftertaste."

"A two star Michelin restaurant. Everything was perfect and delicious. The chef everything himself while his sous chefs prepared the ingredients. The chef is so nice but he didn’t speak grabbing lunch, so I mostly just enjoyed watching and complementing. The sushi counter was full with 8 guest total. I can’t recommend this place enough as long as you don’t mind the high price of 55,000 yen."
