Have you had this in Japan?? The store is called Zunda Saryo in Daimaru Tokyo at Tokyo Station. In Japan Sendai is famous for their use of Zunda. Personally i think its a unique flavor that is unexpectedly nutty and pleasant, but not for everyone. Let me know you want to see me remake (or attempt to) foods from Japan!!

🍡 Who is down to try this?! It’s my favorite mochi pairing because it’s not too sweet, and I love tasting the savory notes Zunda mochi is a specialty in Sendai, Japan. It’s sweetened and crushed edamame paste, which is typically slathered onto mochi. It’s really difficult to find this outside of Sendai, so I tried to eat as much of it as I could in our <24 hour bullet train layover in the city. Ki...

Reviews Summary

Zunda Saryo is celebrated for its unique zunda shakes and mochi, offering a taste of Sendai's local specialty. While many enjoy the sweet edamame flavor, some find the shakes to be excessively sweet. The convenience of its station location is a plus, though queues can form during peak times.

"My friends suggested we try the shake here during our visit to Sendai station. There was no queue and we made our orders pretty quickly and got our shakes soon also. They have separate seating areas as well. The shake was really delicious and I'm looking forward to trying it again."

Bhanuka Senerath

"When you first arrive in Sendai station, the first thing u must try is their zunda shake and zunda mochi. This shop is everything about zunda. Its more like vanilla ice cream milk shake with edamame flavours. More vanilla milk flavour than edamame. Its quite sweet too. I tried both Zunda Saryo and their competitor next door. I prefer the next door one as its less sweet in comparison. I would have prefer the shake to have more zunda flavours. Good to try once or twice when you are in Sendai."

Benjamin Lee Koon Aw

"Sendai's specialty edamame milkshake has a light edamame flavor, but the milk taste is stronger. Takeaway has 8% VAT, and dine-in has 10% VAT, but you need to wait for a seat if dining in."
