"Went on 7 Feb 2025. Need to prebook at least 1 month in advance. Looking at a master performing his skills. Really enjoy the experience."

"Although there are many comments about them not welcoming foreigners, We didn't feel the same way. All the customers were foreigners on the night we visited. Both the chef and the staff could speak fluent English. We were a bit late, apologized when entered the restaurant, expecting that we might have missed a dish (we were late for about 3 min), but the chef was so nice and provided us with the dish we just missed.
The chef was skilled and friendly, introducing the dishes in English, and casually chatting with all the customers. He even invited us to chat more as we were a bit silent. We dined in a relaxing atmosphere.
There were 21 items in total. The food was nice, though not as good as those we've tried in Tokyo before, considering that they were in a similar price range. The rice was more on the acidity side. Their uni seemed expensive, but we think the uni we tried in Tomakomai tasted better. Maybe they were not the same species?
Saw a comment complaining about missing a dish because of lateness. This is a normal practice in Japanese sushi omakase restaurants. This restaurant had also reminded us about this on Tabelog and other online reservation websites."

"We were hesitant to book because some of the negative reviews. I am glad we made it! It was a special night to remember! The chef was skillful, ingredients were divine, and the sake selection is second to none! Everything from decor to the food was quality driven! I can’t believe I enjoyed the Kohada! My fav were the special uni and the Iwashi!!! Highly recommend!!!"
