Diners consistently commend the multi-course tasting menus for their quality and value, alongside the attentive and friendly service. While some note the restaurant's location requires effort to reach, the overall experience is considered well worth the journey.
"I would be very honest with you guys. When we arrived, the place was a bit intimidating to back out, lol. It was a little bit expensive, but we had no idea it was actually a "full course," and everything was just making sense, and every course you eat is worth the money u paid for. Like superb 👌 🤌
Also, it's a weird thing to say, but my partner and I don't eat tomatoes, so instead, they gave us a matcha ice cream at the end of the course for replacement 😮🥰
I highly recommend this one!!
Oh, and you need to make a reservation on this one 😉"

"The beef was top notch. You can tell that they use the best ingredients for every dish. The beef consomme was so flavorful yet light. The fresh tomatoes were some of the freshest I have ever tasted. The roast beef starter was tender and flavorful. The service was so attentive and gentle. The room we were given was so atmospheric. It was perfect."

"We were at Nikko, Japan, in May 2025 and found this restaurant by chance. I'm so glad we did. The steak was terrific, as was all the food provided. This was my first time trying the Wagyu steak, and believe me, it was perfect; it melted in my mouth. I tried the wagyu steak again later at Kobe, Japan, and I have to say, Nikko Guruman’s was better and cheaper.
If I ever get back to Japan, I will make a trip to Nikko just to eat at this restaurant again. The service and atmosphere were top-notch, as was the food. I highly recommend that anyone in the area stop and eat here."

Fixed-price dinners start around $50 depending on the cut of meat you choose, and go up (and up . . .) from there. (Note: The restaurant is closed on Wednesdays.)
