Reviews Summary

Gyoza no Umechan is highly praised for its exceptional ramen and gyoza, with many calling it the best they've had in Japan. The staff's warmth and accommodating nature, including for dietary needs, are frequently highlighted. However, some diners have noted potential issues with clarity regarding seating with children, and the restaurant can get crowded.

"This was easily the best ramen we had during our 2 week to Japan! The staff is so incredibly kind. We arrived with a baby and even though they were about to close the kitchen, the chef offered to cook for us one at a time so we could enjoy our meal."

Nikko Super Leto

"We were looking for a restaurant in the area, looking at the reviews, and came across this one and decided to try it. A great choice, delicious ramen and curry, and the best gyozas we've tried! The people who run it are very friendly, they don't speak English but they use useful translations. It's a great choice, and you'll leave feeling full!"

Juan José Salguero Pizarro

"Discovered this place via a vegan website and decided to try it. It is walking distance from the Tobu Nikko train station.

When we came, there was a queue of about 3 parties waiting to be seated. You may have to wait outside.

We ordered Inazuma Ramen set and Spicy Miso ramen set. Both came with ramen, 3 gyoza and a side of rice.

The taste was fantastic. This was one of the best ramen and gyoza we have had and the prices are reasonable.

You will be hosted by a lovely set of staff who make sure they go out of their way to make you feel welcome even though they barely speak any English.

If you are in the area and are looking for vegan options (which are not many), visit this."
