The coursed dinner focused around the theme of autumn, and featured Kobe beef prepared in a myriad of traditions and seasonal flavors. Every dish was beautifully arranged and delicious.
Even more enjoyable than the delicious food was the warm company of Katsuhara-sensei and the staff on a late November night. They held fantastic conversation in both Japanese and English, and had hilarious senses of humor. We talked about everything from surfing in Tokyo bay, to which Shogi pieces they were most like, to working out at the gym, to naming the crab we were eating that night. Service and atmosphere truly doesn’t get more friendly and personal than this.
Overall, Setsugekka Nagoya is a must-visit if you’re in the area, for the great food and even better company."
