What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Mensho Sakura is highly praised for its exceptional miso ramen, with many hailing it as the best they've ever had. Diners love the rich, flavorful broth, tender meat, and satisfying noodles, all served in a cozy atmosphere. However, some find the broth to be slightly bitter from garlic oil, and the upstairs seating can feel a bit cramped with steep stairs.
"We had lunch here today and it was so delicious. Best ramen I have had in my life. I recommend everyone to go here when in Matsumoto. It takes a moment to stand in line and wait but it is so worth it. You need to bring cash to pay, but that goes super easy at a machine before you sit down."

"Their ramen pairs perfectly with cold weather, offering a comforting and flavorful bowl. The gyoza is also a solid choice, complementing the meal well. Plus, the friendly staff adds to the overall welcoming atmosphere."

"Best miso ramen ever. Visited Sunday and about 10ppl in front of us in d queue just outside the restaurant. Waited for a good 20mins and halfway through, the staff will hand you the menu. You will pay for your bowl of ramen at the vending machine and will be led to your table. Counterseating downstairs and tables upstairs, which you must climb up very steep stairs to. As for the ramen, I'd say it was the best miso ramen I've ever had. It had a more fermented aroma but didn't bother much as soon as I had my first slurp. Super rich broth but not excessively thick that puts you off. Noodles are medium to thick in size that goes perfectly to the soup. Char siews were so soft that they literally melted in your mouth. Great ramen experience. CASH ONLY."
