What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Arashiyama Yoshimura is highly praised for its authentic soba noodles and breathtaking river views, making it a must-visit for many. Diners appreciate the crispy tempura and the overall scenic dining experience, though some note long wait times. While most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, one user had a very negative experience. The ambiance and quality of food are consistently highlighted as major draws.
"One of the must eats in arashiayama. Advised to queue up before it opens so you don't have to wait longer. We waited for about 30 minutes before opening and got a seat as soon as they opened.
Coming to the food, we ordered one Arashiayama set meal and one seasonal meal. Both come with soba hot or cold and assorted tempura. But set meal is served with rice and other pickles while the seasonal meal is served with some duck in a very thick sauce, a mix of tuna in a seasoning which was simple yet delectable along with some crushed tempura batter I presume.
The soba was nice and chewy that warmed my soul especially on that cold rainy day. The soup was just perfect and the pickles gave it a nice subtle kick. The duck was well cooked. The tempuras were super crispy.
They also serve hot tea for free. Definitely would return."

"Great set meal just by the river! There was a long queue before opening but we managed to get a seat quite fast after the doors were open. However, the food was delicious! Recommended!"

"Passby this restaurant and thinking of trying soba noodles. The view of this restaurant is awesome and worth the wait of 10minutes. Didn’t get the window seats at first. However, after a couple at the window seats left, i requested to change seats and the waitresses helped us to change to window seats. The view made the food extra tasty. Happy to have my lunch here!"
