Reviews Summary

Steakland Kobe offers a fantastic opportunity to try genuine Kobe beef at a reasonable price. Diners praise the teppanyaki-style cooking and the flavorful, tender meat. However, some find the service can feel rushed due to the restaurant's efficiency and high volume of customers, and the floors can occasionally be greasy.

"I found this teppanyaki place through Google Maps while searching for steak in the area. The reviews were great, so I decided to give it a try — and I’m so glad I did! I arrived right at opening time and was seated immediately, but the seats filled up quickly and soon there was a line outside.

I ordered the S lunch steak set, and it was incredibly tender with no unpleasant smell — just pure, delicious beef. For the price, the quality of the meat was amazing. Definitely great value for money.

I sat at the counter and watched the chef cook everything right in front of me with impressive skill and speed. The vegetables, rice, soup, and pickles that came with the meal were all excellent.

The waitstaff were clearly used to a busy pace — they moved efficiently and handled everything smoothly, keeping the turnover quick without making it feel rushed.

If I visit Kobe again, I’ll definitely come back."

Rina

"Had a full course meal with a Kobe sirloin steak cut. It was all really good, and the meat was amazing, considering the price point which is lower than most other restaurants.

The restaurant has an amazing atmosphere and the chef prepares the food right in front of you. Great stuff! The staff were friendly and helpful despite not speaking a lot of English.

My main point of criticism which affects the review somewhat - also pointed out by others - is that you’re kind of entering an assembly line the second you enter the restaurant. Everything goes really fast, including the serving of the many dishes - even before you’re done with the previous ones. It may be the Asian way to serve fast rather than time the dishes. But when you’ve ordered half a bottle red you want to enjoy, it’s an annoying when dessert is served and you’re less than halfway through the bottle.

On a more trivial note: my Kobe steak cut was simply presented as “loin” on the menu card - I was explained its sirloin (which I asked for). Maybe this is proper nomenclature. Confusing to me, but minor overall.

In summary: steakland was a great first experience of Kobe beef, and I’d be happy to go again - in particular if you’re looking for a slightly more budget friendly version of the experience. It is also one of the few Kobe beef restaurants where you do not need reservations - very nice, when you’re travelling through and haven’t planned for the experience ahead of time."

Christian Larsen

"Solid place for some reasonably priced Kobe beef. On the grill with some butter and garlic flakes and then onto the plate. Place is nicely laid out and service is quick and prompt. It was interesting that our drinks arrived almost near the end of the meal. As per other reviews, the floor was indeed a little greasy."

10 Must-Try Restaurants In Kobe, Japan

Steakland Kobe is a more affordable place to try Kobe beef that also offers English menus. The interior’s dark wood paneling is reminiscent of an American steakhouse, yet the arrangement of tables around the central griddle distinguishes it as a teppanyaki restaurant. The set menus feature steak, miso soup, rice, Japanese pickles, dipping sauces, salad, and grilled vegetables, plus coffee or orange juice at the end of the meal.
