Reviews Summary

Diners rave about the exceptional quality of Kobe beef, describing it as a melt-in-your-mouth, once-in-a-lifetime culinary experience. The personalized service at the teppanyaki counter, with chefs meticulously preparing each dish, is frequently highlighted as a memorable aspect of the meal. While the price point reflects the premium quality, most consider it a worthwhile indulgence for special occasions.

"Loved this restaurant—really great steak, and very detail oriented presentation and cooking. My family had one chef dedicated to serving the three of us, and they portioned out all the meat and vegetables perfectly. Everything was cooked to perfection, and with a lot of care—see the first photo where they sautéed each thin garlic slice so they cooked evenly, and carefully removed the center from every slice.

The Kobe beef was also really good, but the service made the meal unforgettable. Would definitely come again if I was in Kobe!"

"seems like this is every tourist's go to for kobe beef. ngl, the boisterous chinese tourists r a huge turnoff esp in such a classy elegant environment, but the delicious food and wonderful service more than made up for it.

mouriya served both kobe and non-kobe premium wagyu. obviously the kobe cuts were more expensive but surely that is the whole pt of making the pilgrimage to kobe so i had to indulge. glad to report that the beef did not disappoint!!!

of the a5 ribeye and a5 sirloin, i preferred the sirloin for its melt in ur mouth texture! but both were honestly very tender and well marbled. if u prefer more chew, ribeye may suit u more. marbling scores were comparable between the 2.

the most expensive option is actually the a5 fillet - allegedly even softer than the sirloin notwithstanding a lot less marbling. those who don't enjoy oily or fatty food may prefer this, but i sure don't fall into this class of ppl so i did not try

pls rmb to make a reservation in advance - saw many disappointed tourists who had to be turned away

spent about sgd400+ for 150g ribeye and 170g sirloin. it was money well spent!"

Nic

"Once in a lifetime experience to taste the finest beef worldwide! I‘d recommend you get the fillet, sure it costs the most but it’s worth every penny. We compared all the different cuts and the fillet is truly amazing in taste and texture! We got a full lunch course and the staff is very professional, kind and experienced. I’d recommend a reservation, we got lucky and got a table right away, but it was packed."

Kobe Port / CRUISE PORT GUIDE OF JAPAN

Kobe is a compact city that encompasses the mountains, urban landscapes and the sea as one of Japan’s foremost tourist city. After the port was opened to external trade, Kobe became known as a city of international commerce - a place where people from other cultures were welcome - and that period in history has left a deep impression on the city to this day. The district of Kitano and the Old Foreign Settlement still have many structures that were built as merchant offices and housing for non-Japanese, and the city is also home to Nankin Machi, one of the three largest Chinatowns in Japan.

If you’re a bit of a foodie, or just like to eat, you might want to include an experience of Kobe beef on your trip. Kobe beef comes from a breed of cattle called Tajima-gyu that are farmed around the Hyogo Prefecture (and now the world), not only in Kobe itself.
