What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Diners praise Takasakiya for its authentic, high-quality sushi and seafood at reasonable prices, often highlighting the charming service from the elderly couple who run the establishment. While many find the experience magical and memorable, a few have noted that the sushi quality might not meet all expectations, and seating can be an issue due to the restaurant's intimate size.
"Absolutely magical food and presentation. The food was gorgeous and delicious, the staff very professional and gave us a premium-attitude including sitting us at a lovely private lounge. Made the trip to Kanazawa a memory to never forget."
Danilo Sierra
"Not the best sushi unfortunately. We expected much more from that place. We ordered set of suchi, sashimi, grilled prawns and salad."
Alla Tsyganova
"Reasonable prices for excellent, fresh seafood paired with local vegetables. Many come with colleagues and business partners after work. Majority of the staff are senior citizens. Service is that of typical Japanese fashion - courteous and efficient. An English menu is available which is very helpful. A short walk from Kanazawa Station and also Hotel Nikko Kanazawa which is where I stayed."
