Higashi Chaya District is located in the Higashiyama area of Kanazawa, adjacent to the Asano River. It is the largest among three well-preserved historical geisha districts in Kanazawa along with Nishichayagai and Kazuemachi, and the geisha still entertain here today 🇯🇵 #japantravel #geisha #japanese #artist #japaneseculture

I tried gold leaf art in Kanazawa 🤩 Did you know that Kanazawa produces nearly 99% of Japan’s gold leadf? I visited Hakuichi in Higashi Chaya and couldn’t resist trying a hands-on decorating experience. #traveltok #japan #kanazawa #hakuichi

The attentive and friendly service, along with the charming setting in the Higashi Chaya district, enhance the overall dining experience. While the restaurant's popularity can lead to waits, most visitors find it well worth the time.

"Amazing experience trying the mizuho Lu ch set, which consists of 5 or 7 small dishes. We ordered the 5 dishes menu set as they could make it without meat. We asked to replace also the seammered dish for something not meaty and was possible.
The waitress was super cute and helpful. She could explain in English what is on the menu and ask the kitchen to adjust it to our dietary requirements. The atmosphere was also good"

Anna Hostelgeeks

"A great set lunch with lots of different local vegetables and dishes, finishing off with a small pudding and a cup of local kaga tea. The ingredients were fresh and of high quality. Attentive service and the lady that served us made sure the dishes didn’t contain allergens for me and even swapped a dish I couldn’t have. A great stop in between sightseeing."

Aileen N C

"We had one of our best lunch experiences in Japan here, one of those walk fast and you’ll miss it restaurants in the middle of the Higashi Chaya district."
