What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Diners rave about the exceptional quality of Kurobuta black pork, particularly in dishes like tonkatsu and shabu-shabu. The extensive Shochu selection is also a major draw. While the food is highly praised, the Japanese-only menu can be a challenge for non-speakers, and some reviewers mention unfriendly service from kitchen staff.
"No English menu here, but you can just use Google Translate or pick from the photos — it’s pretty easy to figure out.
Had the best kurobuta tonkatsu I’ve ever eaten. The thick cut was seriously thick, super tender and juicy inside, and really crispy outside.
Also tried the Kuroushi & Kurobuta Shabu Shabu set — big portions and a great way to try both of Kagoshima’s famous meats at once.
You have to try the deep-fried soft boiled egg too — crispy outside, perfectly runny inside.
Awesome spot overall. Definitely recommend if you want to taste some amazing Kagoshima meats in one meal!"

"I went to the store to try black pork cutlet. The taste was wonderful and juicy.
The menu is all Japanese so difficult to understand. The cooking lady was speaking all Japanese expecting me to understand it, but the service staff was very helpful and tried to understand my concern.
Menu showed all the items so easy to understand the menu with translate app.
Food was prepared in front of me and was excellent. Was it not for the rude behaviour of cooking lady i would have given it all 5 stars.
Maybe go with a Japanese friend to this shop as the food is a must try."

"I'm from Singapore (kinda like the food haven) but I have yet to eat any hotpot/shabu which I enjoyed every single piece of food.
Loved the soup, meat and every single piece of veggie.
One word of advice though if you're ordering the shabu shabu set. They will serve the ramen only after you're done. If you really like the soup, you should drink your fill before cooking the ramen cos it changes the taste of the soup."
