What Travellers Say

Reviews Summary

Angolo Palladio offers a delightful dining experience with consistently good food and exceptionally warm service. Diners rave about the authentic local dishes, particularly the cod and polenta, as well as the delicious pizzas. The prime location near the Basilica Palladiana and the cozy atmosphere further enhance the dining experience. While most reviews are glowing, some patrons noted that the cover charge can be a bit high, and one review mentioned a minor issue with a dish's seasoning.

"Stopped in on a whim when looking for a dinner spot as a solo traveller, staff were very welcoming and accommodating when I said I wanted a vegan option, the menu is mostly pizza so they just created a cheese free vegetable pizza. Better than your standard pizza and beautifully presented! Would recommend, location was perfect as well and I imagine is lovely in summer!"

"During our week-long stay in Vicenza, we found ourselves drawn back to Angolo Palladio for dinner on three separate evenings—an experience that was consistently warm, welcoming, and delicious. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like welcomed. Our waitress not only remembered us but also recalled my previous order, a small gesture that speaks volumes about the care and hospitality here.

The food was simply excellent—each dish served warm, with subtle, thoughtfully balanced flavors that let the ingredients shine. The grilled polenta was a standout: soft, buttery, and melt-in-your-mouth tender. The branzino was cooked to perfection, while the pastas were all beautifully prepared. My mother and husband especially loved the linguini with shrimp and ginger, a dish with just the right hint of brightness.

The staff was more than accommodating, even serving us a crisp, fresh insalata mista upon request, despite it not being listed on the menu. The baccalà alla vicentina was outstanding—rich, savory, and comforting. For meat lovers, the steak was a hit: well-seasoned and perfectly cooked.

Desserts were not to be missed. The tiramisu was among the best we've had, and the small cookies served at the end were an unexpected and delicious surprise. The setting added to the charm, with soft white lights and a cozy, intimate atmosphere that made every meal feel special.

We only wish Angolo Palladio was in our neighborhood in New York—it would surely become our go-to spot. We’ll absolutely be back on our next trip to Vicenza. Highly recommended!"

Vicenza - World Heritage Site

I had visited Palladian Vicenza before but went back there on the occasion of the Robert Wilson production of Oedipus by Sophocles at the Teatro Olimpico, originally designed by Palladio. Known as the oldest surviving indoor theater in the world, the Teatro opened with Oedipus in 1585, which makes this the 433 anniversary production. Why 433 anniversary?

This traditional restaurant overlooks the centrally located Piazza dei Signori. Angolo Palladio has perfected regional dishes like bigoli con ragù di anatra, baccalà alla vicentina, polenta, and gnocchi scattered with the province’s signature black truffle. They also shimmy thick-crusted pizzas topped with local ingredients out of wood-burning ovens.
