This elegant restaurant and pizzeria have ample outdoor dining space in its brick-walled courtyard and the sunny piazza out front. The refreshingly contemporary menu at Birraria La Corte is infused with subtle hints of Venice’s ancient spice trade—saffron bigoli (like fat spaghetti) or gnocchi with sumac powder—and classic fish dishes like “busara” style prawns in a rich tomato sauce or risotto made from goby fish.

Pizza north of Rome can be a gamble, but the Neapolitan-style pies made at Birraria La Corte are a sure bet. Your pizza experience can still be Venetian with the Sospiri, which has spicy calabrian ‘nduja drizzled with honey made in the lagoon. Or you can go with the Barena featuring fresh tuna in saor sprinkled with salicorne, a crunchy salty green that grows at the edges of muddy tidal islands.

The pizza at Birraria La Corte, a former brewery, is cooked in a wood-fired oven. They have popular toppings like gorgonzola and brie and it’s all delicious. The atmosphere is super informal, too; it’s a great place for kids.

Birraia la Corte – Originally from Bilbao, Spain, chef Silvia Rozas has put in time at top-tier restaurants like Noma and El Celler de Can Roca, but love led her to Venice, where she took over the kitchen of the historical Birraria La Corte in Campo San Polo with Venetian Marco Zambon (the aforementioned love). For their Spanish/Italian dishes, they use entirely local, seasonal products harvested from the lagoon. Order, if available, the zucchini flowers and arugula pesto spaghettoni and if not their pizza San Erasmo is alway a solid option.

Having heard of the Bacaro-pub da Aldo I made it my first real beer stop in Venice after having dinner and some beers at Birraria La Corte. As I wandered down the canal looking for it I came across many places that had large groups of people drinking outside, and then one empty shop with a large man sitting in the window. There was no name on the place so I kept walking but having seen the words "Beers from around the world" I knew it was him and turned back.

Pizzeria Birraria La Corte is one of my favorite places to get pizza in Venice but it’s also my top spot to sit down with kids if you want them to have enough space to run around freely while you wait for your food. This restaurant is quite popular among locals so be sure to pre-book your table or get their when they open at noon. Not only is the setting ideal but the pizza is classic Neopolitan-style thick crust made with top quality ingredients.

Birraria la Corte (www.birrarialacorte.it) in Campo San Polo serves great pizza and is ideal for restless toddlers, with plenty of outdoor tables on one of the largest squares in the city. Or try Acqua Pazza (www.veniceacquapazza.com) in lovely Campo Sant' Angelo, which has a gorgeous shaded terrace. It's famed for its huge pizzas topped with mozzarella and tomatoes; for a more grown-up option, try the lobster salad or pasta with anchovies.

Birraria La Corte has to be one of the most unique-looking pizzerias in Venice. This beautiful restaurant is housed inside an old Austrian brewery, built with the original wood and copper fittings, giving the restaurant a wonderfully rustic atmosphere. Not only is the setting so distinctive, they are also known for using locally grown produce, which oozes through their fresh and colourful pizzas.

Right around the corner from my apartment, this hidden gem serves up a huge variety of pizzas, in addition to the best gnocchi I’ve ever had in my life. I tried everything at Birraria La Corte from fried eggplant to a pizza with a full ball of burrata cheese on top, but the melt-in-your-mouth ricotta gnocchi kept me coming back on a weekly basis. The prices didn’t hurt either.

This one gets many great reviews from families, as it’s located on one of the largest squares of the city, so there’s plenty of space for wayward toddlers to run about. There are often local families eating here, kids playing football in the square and parents relaxing over a glass of wine. Athough the restaurant has lots of tables, the service is quick and efficient.

It is the right occasion to rethink the offer and format of Marco’s family’s restaurant, the historical Birraria La Corte in campo San Polo (where, in our opinion, you can eat one of the best pizzas of the lagoon, but not only). Birraria reopens then under a new light, more contemporary, with biological wines and gourmet pizzas.

This pizzeria has a large range of options with their pizza’s named after the bridges of Venice. Enjoy your fresh, doughy pizza sat in a typical Italian square where there’s children playing and washing hanging from the windows above!. The Campo San Polo is the second largest square in Venice after San Marco.

Birraria La Corte came highly recommended, and it definitely lived up to the hype. Their menu puts a fresh twist on classic pizzas, featuring seasonal toppings like pumpkin, hazelnuts, and gorgonzola over a delicious crust. While reservations aren’t essential, it’s a good idea to book ahead, just in case.

For pizza try Birraria La Corte in San Polo – this pizza restaurant spills out into the Campo San Polo and was recommended by our food tour guide. It’s also a craft brewery and a great place to relax while the kids play in the square.

Birraria La Corte – This is the perfect setting for families with kids, in Campo San Polo, with a menu that has something for everyone ranging from pizza and typical pastas to regional dishes. They also serve regional draft beer.

Birraria La Corte is a modern Venetian restaurant in the San Polo area with a rustic and hip vibe. It is a little off the beaten track and feels local. The calzone and Aperol Spritz are absolutely delicious!

That said, Birreria La Corte is a solid choice for pizza and beer. Osteria Giorgione da Masa is an excellent izakaya serving Japanese dishes made with local seafood and produce.

With their roots in southern Italy, Birraria La Corte serves a good, traditional pizza, made with superb ingredients, and expert handling.
