Reviews Summary

Antico Forno is widely praised for its exceptional pizza, with many calling it the best in Venice due to its delicious flavors and high-quality ingredients. Reviewers highlight the perfect crust and variety of toppings. However, some patrons have noted that the small seating area can lead to noise and long waits, especially during peak hours, making takeout a potentially more relaxed option.

"I have basically been trying to find the best pizza in all of Rome and Venice.....THIS HAS ABSOLUTELY BEEN THE BEST! amazing flavor, amazing crust. The thin crust pizza is just simply amazing, I can't say more about it. It is basically only for to go, because the seating is very limited, but if you can wait for a fresh thin crust pizza, you will be in for a treat. I got the diavola pizza in thin crust, and then I got the thick crust pugliese. I want to make a longer review and talk about how happy I am to truly find good pizza in Italy, but what more can I say"

"Wow—hands down the best pizza I’ve had in Venice! We stopped at Antico Forno, it completely exceeded expectations. The pizza here is on another level—the texture of the bread alone was unforgettable: perfectly crunchy on the bottom, yet soft and fluffy in the middle. Truly the ideal bite.

We tried several different slices, and each one was bursting with flavor. The ingredients were clearly fresh and high quality, from the cheese to the toppings. Every slice had its own unique taste, but all of them were absolutely delicious.

Compared to many of the tourist-heavy restaurants in Venice where you might pay double for mediocre quality, Antico Forno is a gem—great value, authentic taste, and fast service. If you’re in Venice and want real Italian pizza done right, this is the place. Don’t miss it!"

"We recent dined here for dinner. It is centrally located. They have a small indoor seating area. They only make thin crust whole pizza. If you want a thick crust you have to order by the slice. The service is very fast and we went during busy season. Overall, we will return next time here in Venice for a tasty meal."

When you think of Venice, pizza doesn't usually spring to mind, yet the owners of Antico Fornoare working on changing that perception. Overcoming strict safety rules for operating wood-fired ovens on the island, this pizzeria (located inside the Rialto Market) crafts soft and chewy focaccia pizzas, rustic style pies by the slice, and whole sourdough pizzas for takeaway. A Guide to Eating Your Way Around Venice

Venice isn’t particularly famous for its pizza, but if you are after a slice to line your stomach after a few spritzes, I’d recommend Al Forno Antico near the Rialto Bridge. You’ll find traditional thin Italian base pizzas but try the Pizzacia. It’s a Foccacia base with pizza toppings and it’s SO GOOD. Very doughy but with an insanely crispy base.
