Reviews Summary
Granduca Restaurant Taormina offers a stunning sea view and a taste of authentic Sicilian cuisine, with many praising the fresh seafood and delicious pizzas. While the ambiance and views are consistently lauded, some diners have noted inconsistent service and occasional issues with steak preparation. It's a place that aims for fine dining and often delivers, though occasional missteps can occur.
"We had the pleasure of returning to the Ristorante Granduca in Taormina, and once again, the experience was excellent in every way.The setting is beautiful, offering an elegant yet relaxed atmosphere, surrounded by greenery with wonderful sea views. It’s the perfect place for a romantic dinner or a special occasion with friends. The service was impeccable: staff were courteous, attentive, and professional from start to finish, always ready with helpful suggestions without ever being intrusive.
The dishes were beautifully presented, combining Sicilian tradition with modern creativity. From starters to mains, everything was well-executed, using high-quality ingredients and refined pairings.
The pasta was perfectly cooked, the fish prepared with great skill, the meat delicate and flavorful, and the desserts well-balanced and satisfying. This is clearly a kitchen that knows what it’s doing and delivers with consistency.
In short, Granduca is a safe choice in Taormina: professionalism, quality, kindness, and a beautiful setting make it a restaurant we would confidently recommend."

"Me and my fiance ate at this restaurant to round off the final day of our holiday to Sicily.
To start I ordered mussels and my fiance ordered a lasagne-like dish. Both of which were a good start to the meal.
For our mains we ordered the steak and also a swordfish dish. The swordfish was light and had a lot of flavour.
The steak however was a bit of a let down. We ordered it medium rare and it came well done. We overheard another table making the same observation so maybe the chef always cooks the steak this way. The steak also came with some vegetables which didn’t pair well at all with the steak. It felt like the same vegetables from the swordfish dish were lifted and shifted onto the steak dish.
For desert we had the profiteroles, which were solid.
Overall, the experience was good. I wouldn’t consider this restaurant the best we went to in Sicily but it was the more expensive.
I would recommend others come to the restaurant to experience a flavour of fine dining in Sicily."

"My wife and I went for lunch. We shared the prosciutto and melon and it very good. We then each had pasta and we were not disappointed although my gnocchi were a bit salty. Both deserts were very good. We did not have the pizza but it smelled good. The staff was overall ok but not overly friendly. The view was very nice. For lunch, I was satisfied although I cannot say it was the best restaurant I ever ate."

Food Guide: What We Ate in Taormina, Sicily
We literally stumbled on a sign of Granduca while walking along Corso Umberto, followed a narrow staircase downstairs expecting a little pizza joint and found ourselves instead in a beautiful restaurant with a spectacular verandah overlooking the Ionian Sea. I would go here for the views alone, but the food was INCREDIBLE. We had a simple eggplant parmesan, linguine vongole, and the “Granduca” pizza which is HANDS down some of the best pizza I have ever had in my life.

Without advice from locals, it would be difficult to find this place. Whilst it’s conveniently on the main street in the old town, it is hidden downstairs and you would walk past it without knowing it was there. As such, it relies on its reputation with locals rather than harassing tourists on the street.
Where to eat in Taormina? My verified addresses and the best granita
Good, checked by me restaurants in Taormina are Villa Zuccaro – pizza, Tiramisu – pasta, fish, sweets for dessert (!), Babylonia – fish, Granduca – pizza and fish, Casa Gioli (expensive but tasty), Daiquiri – aperitif & drink. These premises have standard prices for Taormina but everywhere eat well.

Granduca (be sure to book to secure a table outside) this restaurant offers both a pizza menu and an a la carte menu to offer something for everyone. Whilst the food is delicious its the view that will really make it a special evening.
