What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Ortigia Fish Bar is lauded for its incredibly fresh and delicious seafood, with many calling it the best they've ever had. Diners rave about the vibrant fried dishes, tender fish, and the truly exceptional tiramisu. While the atmosphere is generally pleasant, some find the indoor space a bit warm. A few reviewers noted potential issues with service speed or pricing, but the overall sentiment highlights a fantastic culinary experience.
"Well worth it! Delicious dishes across the board and great service. We had a full Mel our starting with caponata, swordfish pasta, swordfish kebabs and grilled red mullet finished off with homemade tiramisu and washed down with lovely white wine. Really good vibe and super friendly and helpful staff.
100% recommend!"

"We had dinner here and the food was fantastic. Easily the best fried calamari we’ve ever had. The squid is still very juicy and not rubbery at all. Batter is really light so you can taste the natural sweetness of the squid but with crunchy texture from the batter.
The mussel soup is delicious as the mussels were really fresh.
The highlight for us is the grilled large red Sicilian prawns. They were super delicious. Really fresh and juicy.
The prices are all reasonable and for the quality of food, it’s definitely worth it."

"Nice seafood restaurant right along the coast. Too hot/sunny to eat outside, but two indoor dining areas. Nice menu and seafood offerings. We had whole grilled bream, shrimp, and a salad. Very well done. So hungry and good that I didn't get a photo before we'd eaten most of the food. Pleasant and attentive service."

What To Do, See And Eat In Siracusa, Sicily
Ortigia Fish Bar serves up ultra-fresh and tasty seafood, as well as delicious sides like my favourite insalata Siciliana (tangy orange slices, anchovies, sliced fennel and black olives). The mixed fried fish is excellent, as are the grilled stuffed sardines. You can also find octopus salad, grilled tuna, grilled prawns, grilled swordfish and several pasta dishes on the menu.

We had good experiences in Catania at Calarittu, La Pentolaccia and la Quatera; in Ortigia the Ortigia Fish Bar and Palazzo Bonnano; in Ragusa Terrazzo Orologio and La Bettola.
