Besides a magic atmosphere, narrow lanes full of restaurants and small shops of local craftsmanship, the historical Sorrento center holds Palazzo Veniero, Palazzo Correale with its tiled with majolica dated from 1700 courtyard, the historical seats of Porta and Dominova, place appointed to the Sorrento nobility meetings, and the MuseoBottega of the Wood Inlaying, which keeps the ancienttradition of the Sorrento wood inlay.

Renowned for its seafood, the jewel in Sorrento’s culinary crown is the wonderful shellfish. As the best food in Sorrento, we have lots of recommendations!. One of our favourite dishes is Spaghetti e Vongole (spaghetti with clams) and also Frittura di Calamari & gamberi (lightly floured calamari and fresh shrimps).

Porta Marina Seafood is a family-owned gem nestled in Sorrento, offering seafood that’s simply fantastic. Their menu stars the freshest catches of the day, prepared with a touch of simplicity and a burst of flavor. As you step inside, you’ll find a warm and welcoming atmosphere with a view that’s pure ocean magic.

The entire circuit was surrounded by a moat crossed by bridges at the points of the four major gates: the Porta della Sirena to the E, the Porta Aurea to the N, the Porta della Giustizia to the S, and to the W the Porta Marina, which consists of round and square towers forming a vestibule with guard rooms.

10/07/2025: A great restaurant with plenty of small tables that can be quickly arranged for larger groups. The food is fantastic, and combined with the view of the small marina, it creates a pure holiday feeling. The service was fast and friendly, and the food was the best we've had in a long time.

PortaMarina is a charming little restaurant on the quayside in one of the prettiest parts of Sorrento. You’ll find an eclectic mix of glassware here, showcasing some of the best local wines that the area has to offer. Enjoy views of the marina, full of fishermen out to catch some fresh produce.

All customers love the fantastic Italian and Mediterranean cuisine in this restaurant. The exotic lobster pasta, sea bream and grilled octopus might make a great impression on you. Incomparable tiramisu, lemon cake and ice cream are among the best dishes to try at the Porta Marina restaurant.

One such restaurant, is the Porta Marina, at Marina Grande which gets its fish fresh from the harbour each morning. Fresh fish beautifully cooked, delicious chips, friendly staff, gorgeous location by the water's edge – you couldn’t ask for more.

It is a bit of a maze to find, and it is exceedingly small, but worth the work to discover. Even though it was only a lunch, I would say this was one of my favorite lifetime eating experiences and certainly the best restaurant in Sorrento.

Despite its name, Marina Piccola (Small Marina) is actually larger and busier than Marina Grande. If you’re looking to take a ferry to any surrounding islands, this marina will be your point of departure.
