Pizzeria Da Franco is one of the most popular spots in town, not only because their pizza is out of this world good, cooked in their famous wood-burning oven 8ft deep 500 celsius, but they’re also open from lunch to 1 am which is appealing. We shared saltimbocca, which means jumping around, a traditional Italian dish of veal wrapped with prosciutto and sage. We then had their delicious thin and crisp pizza, the prosciutto di Parma DOP was salty and dry, the thick legs hung from the ceiling as they go through 1-2 legs a day.

Just a few steps from Piazza Angelina Lauro, this pizzeria makes the best pizza by the meter in Sorrento, perfect if you are dining with a group of family or friends. The waiter will ask how many servings you want and your favorite toppings, and you will be served one long pizza cut into slices which are divided by topping. There are 16 slices of pizza per meter, which is enough for about 4 hungry people.

I went to Pizzeria Da Franco during my very first week here in Sorrento and can confidently say it was my favorite pizza then and it’s still my favorite pizza now. The atmosphere is so fun and inviting, the staff are always welcoming, and the food is phenomenal. It’s conveniently open throughout the night until 6am and makes for the best late night snack.

Just off Corso Italia is the Da Franco Pizzeria which makes pizza by the metre. The waiter will ask how many servings you want and your favourite toppings, you will then be served one long pizza cut into different slices depending on the number of toppings chosen. The atmosphere is casual, with plastic tableware, shared tables, and fast service.

Considered the best pizza in town, Pizzeria da Franco is located on the famous road of Corso Italia. Considered one of the best family restaurants in Sorrento, Italy, the food is of great quality and very reasonably priced. As well as the classic pizzas there are also a few seasonal pizzas and there are also Vegetarian friendly options.

Whether you stop for pizza in Naples or not, be sure to also try Pizzeria da Franco in Sorrento on Corso Italia. Hole in the wall joint, lots of locals, BEST pizza I have ever eaten. Four years after our first trip to Sorrento, we returned and popped into the same restaurant, knowing it couldn't possibly be as good as we remembered.

With our first tasting done, we were on our way to Pizzeria da Franco. This pizza shop was just a short walk away from our meeting point. When we arrived here, I was surprised at how much it looked like the average mom-and-pop pizza place I was familiar with in America.

Usually when people think of Italy they think of Pizza and they should!. Pizza is God’s gift to this world- more so to Italy. One of the first pizzas ever made was in Naples and the story behind that is pretty fascinating involving the Queen Margherita.

For a family night out, you could try Da Franco and order your pizza by the meter. With 16 slices per meter, you can get your favourite toppings added per section and enjoy the ‘grab a slice’ fun of tucking into your ridiculously long pizza.

This is probably my favorite find when I’m traveling and exploring. It’s local, yummy, cheap eats for a casual night. The type of food to pick up and bring back to the room after a long day of adventure.

Order the Margherita with (fresh!) mozzarella di bufalo from nearby Paestum. And while you’re at it, order the prosciutto and mozzarella appetizer.

Lovely home made pizza and gluten free options......absolutely yummy!. Gluten free Peroni too.....such a lovely treat. Definitely worth a visit.
